Another movie that I got excited about when it came out. I went and saw it in theaters and I have to admit that it was worth the money. If you can, I recommend you see this in theaters if you get a chance before you download it or buy the DVD. That being said, this movie didnt exactly recieve love on the internet from those who reviewed it. With just 30 percent approval rating on RottonTomatoes, I guess you could say that the overwhelming consensus is that the movie was a bust.

Surrogates (2009)

I have to admit that when I first heard this was coming out, I was more excited than I have been about most movies this year. It takes place in the future when the world is a totally different place. People have become dependent on machines. Humans are able to live their lives through a robot. While they lay in a chair, their robot (surrogate which is make to their liking) lives their life but fully controlled by the human. To me, it seems like the writers wanted to show everyone what life could be life if we keep spending all our time online. Anyways so surrogates end up getting murdered in the movie but the catch is that their users are dying also. Bruce Willis uses his surrogate for a while and then has to do it all by himself. Dealing with memories of the past, he sets out to conquer his fears and stop a murder. Its not exactly a chick flick but if you enjoyed I, Robot you will certainly enjoy this movie.

This is one of my favorite movies/series of movies. I love this stuff more than anything (minus maybe Mad Max). Riddick, now a hunted man, finds himself in the middle of two opposing forces in a major crusade. Colm Feore plays Lord Marshal, a warrior priest who is the leader of a sect that is waging the tenth and perhaps final crusade 500 years in the future. Judi Dench is Aereon, an ambassador from the Elemental race. She is an ethereal being who helps Riddick unearth his origins.

Based on Marvel Comics’ superhero character, this is the story of Peter Parker (Maguire) who is bitten by a genetically modified spider. He wakes up the next morning with incredible powers. After witnessing the death of his uncle (Robertson), Parkers decides to put his new skills to use in order to rid the city of evil, but someone else has other plans. The Green Goblin (Dafoe) sees Spider-Man as a threat and must dispose of him. Even if it means the Goblin has to target Parker’s Aunt (Harris) and the girl he secretly pines for (Dunst).
