Wesley Snipes stars in this amazing vampire film as a hybrid (or half vampire/half man). He is a tatooed, vampire killing, machine so to speak. He can walk the streets during the daytime with other daywalkers (or normal humans) while killing vampires at night. Most blogs that I have read out there are telling everyone to stay away from this movie but I am actually a firm believer that this film was made for the big screen. I dont know if its a great DVD or not, but its definately worth seeing if you have not yet. It even involves Dracula, so how can you say no?

There are a lot of things that I would say take away from the movie. Cheap sets, really bad lighting that you actually see throughout the trilogy. I think thats pretty much the worst part of the movie, is the lighting. I think this movie would have been badass if it bad been put on a brighter set. I mean I know this movie is supposed to be dark and all, but not all the time. Its worse than Underworld when it comes to being dark the whole time.

Species starts out with an interesting idea: that an alien civilization would radio us a plan to genetically engineer a new (and far superior) race, which would inevitably destroy us all. Natasha Henstridge (who looks great naked throughout most of the movie) is “Sil,” the code name of the first of these creatures, which escapes from captivity much too easily and begins marauding Los Angeles in an attempt to mate. Sil is a femme fatale in the purest sense of the word. Believe me, when she says “no,” she means it, as one guy who tries to take advantage of her quickly finds out. I think she actually impregnates him or something…down his throat…its pretty crazy. Of course, Henstridge steals the show and makes the film nearly watchable. She looks almost inhuman as it is…and some of her transformation sequences are almost too real. In fact, I once dated a girl who…well, but that’s another story.

While it’s impossible to say at this point whether the series will have the longevity of the Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street films, moviegoers can probably look forward to seeing a new Saw every October for the next few years. That’s actually not such a terrible proposition because, unlike the subsequent Nightmares and Fridays, the Saw films seem to be improving as they go along. Saw II is by no means a masterpiece of the genre, but it’s a slickly made picture that more than delivers on the promise made on its poster-oh yes, there will be blood.

The original Saw opened with one of the best first acts in recent American horror cinema. Two men wake up to find themselves chained to the wall of a locked bathroom with a corpse, a gun, a tape recorder and a saw lying between them. They soon learn that they are part of an elaborate game designed by a serial killer known as Jigsaw. Unlike most boogeymen, Jigsaw doesn’t murder his victims with an axe or razor-sharp claws. His modus operandi is to place them in life-or-death situations that test their survival instincts. If they play by his ghoulish rules and live, they’re free to go. But if they can’t do what he demands-and frequently they can’t-they meet an untimely end. Part of the fun of Saw came in watching the two main characters piece their captor’s game together.

Unfortunately, the movie squandered this intriguing premise by repeatedly cutting away to a second plot thread involving a vengeful cop who was hunting Jigsaw. Instead of adding to the film, this poorly conceived storyline felt like cheap filler. Every time the movie left that room, it brought the narrative momentum to a dead stop.

It would be interesting to get more of a story about what happened to set these things in motion. Richard Matheson. A 2010 release date is also being mooted for this one. I suppose I could give you guys some links to stay updated with the latest news…I wish I had more but no one is returning my calls. I suppose considering Will Smith dies in the first one will mean that he wont be coming back in the second film. I just hope that this one can pale in comparison to the first movie. If not, there are going to be a lot of pissed off fans. I understand that when you make a large sum of money on a film, you want to be able to do that again, but creating a sequel to this film???? I don’t know, it just does not seem right. This better not be one of those straight to DVD performances…I will kill. War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave: Another straight to DVD sequel, but this one’s of note because it’s directed by Soul Man/Hitcher star C Thomas Howell. Blimey. This movie is a sequel to the Sci-fi Original War of the Worlds. Its another Asylum films stinker in my opinion. If you watched the first one on Sci-Fi then you would understand what I am talking about. I am not saying that the Tom Cruise version of this movie was any better, just saying that they could have spent a little more money on graphics and acting school. I do recommend you watch the first one at some point that came out in 2005…in my opinion its better than the Hollywood/Cruise version, but is still not what I would consider a “must see movie.” At first I thought this was some kind of video game (which I wouldnt be surprised if thats what it becomes) but it really is a movie. Now I owe a guy 10 dollars…great. And what did I get for it? A crap movie. Anyways, some of you might like it…and if you enjoy Sci-Fi channel productions then this will definitely be your cup of tea.

Super Troopers 2: Introducing a hair-raising prequel idea for the clueless cops, 33-year-old Lemme revealed a second plotline they might instead indulge. “We have [another] idea to go back to 1977 and play our dads,” he grinned. “We’d have a whole bunch of new stories, where we have bigger mustaches and hot rods.” In addition to the sequel/prequel, the gang is also looking to bring “The Greek Road” to the theaters, which as Lemme explains is about… “Ancient Greeks in the original buddy movie: Socrates and Plato. Kevin plays Plato, who is the freshman phenom wrestler, but he’s so stupid that he is failing his classes. So, they bring Socrates in — who I play — and then we go [on] a road trip to the Olympics. Hilarious!” While they are producing a few things, they are planning to act in a film called “Slammin’ Salmon.” “We play waiters in a restaurant owned by a guy who is basically a Mike Tyson character, the heavyweight champ.” They idea is to do a proper, five-member movie within the next year. Lemme, meanwhile is making plans to direct a separate quasi-”Troopers” spin-off. “I might direct something called ‘Run for the Border,’ which actually stars the three stoners from ‘Super Troopers,’” Lemme revealed. “They try to pose as Mexicans to gain some employment, they get deported to Mexico and they have to try to get back across the border.” I know there are going to be a lot of you guys eagerly awaiting its arrival because this is quite possibly the greatest movie to watch while intoxicated so here are some great sites to keep up with everything going on in this movie:

Beverly Hills Cop 4: If Die Hard can still do it at the box office, why can’t Axel Foley? Er, because the third BHC movie was crap, and a flop. Still, it’s not stopped development work going ahead on number four. I love Eddie Murphy just as much as the next person but this dude is getting old. I mean Harrison Ford can pull it off but can this dude??? He was a hit sensation from day one with his first movie 48 Hrs but I just dont know if he is going to be able to handle this kind of action at his age…there was a lot of different types of action stunts that he used to do himself sometimes…he wont be doing any of that anymore I guarantee you that. On top of all of this, I thought that he went all family oriented on us??? He hasnt done anything remotely Rated R in almost 10 years now. Thats a decade of kiddy movies and now you are telling me that he is going to be cussing, and shooting, and screaming??? This is definately going to be an interesting if not a little entertaining as always is with Murphy. I have to say that I miss Axel Foley but I have also heard that Judge Reinhold might not be joining the group for this one. In my opinion this movie will not be a success without him. The writers have written a total of 8 movies between them in the time between the BHC movies. I hope that this is a success but everything is riding against them, thats for certain. The residents of Haddonfield don’t know it yet… but death is coming to their small sleepy town. Sixteen years ago, a ten year old boy called Michael Myers brutally kills his step father, his elder sister and her boyfriend. Sixteen years later, he escapes from the mental institution and makes his way back to his hometown intent on a murderous rampage pursued by Dr Sam Loomis who is Michael’s doctor and the only one who knows Michael’s true evil. Elsewhere a shy teenager by the name of Laurie Strode is babysitting on the night Michael comes home… is it pure coincidence that she and her friends are being stalked by him?

The plague has traveled around the world infecting most of the world’s population, turning everyone into the walking undead. The deadly virus also has destroyed the world as we knew it, rendering the planet a desert. Alice (Milla Jovovich) has been forced to roam the Earth alone attempting to stay off Umbrella’s radar. A convoy led by Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) and former U.B.C.S. agent Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr) along with L.J. (Mike Epps) and other survivors who have not been infected, travel from small town to small town in search of other survivors and supplies, staying away from any large cities – areas that may potentially be infested with zombies. Their goal is to find a place that has not been infected by the virus.

As the film progresses, we see that Alice’s powers have undergone substantial growth. Alice, after saving the convoy from a swarm of ravenous birds, joins the others in the hunt for a place to call home. Umbrella, on the other hand, has been forced to go underground. Dr. Isaacs (Iain Glen) has been conducting research at one such institution. This time, though, instead of developing a new viral creature, he is searching for a cure; a new serum that, in previous experiments, produce a subdued creature, one that has reasoning skills and vague memories, but if angered, will fly into a blind rage and devour any human unlucky enough to be in close proximity.

Dr. Isaacs had been using clones of Alice, running each through a rigorous simulation of the past situations Alice had been in, hoping to find the one with the same capabilities, therefore the same blood as the original. Unfortunately for the convoy, Dr. Isaacs finds Alice and tries to capture her in Las Vegas, after Alice persuades the convoy to journey to Alaska where Alice believes there lives an uninfected community, so he can continue his experiments. Alice and the others, this time face not normal zombies, but instead the new enraged zombies. Dr. Isaacs goes with the strike team during the operation, and in taking this action, he seals his own fate when he is bitten by his new creation while trying to make an escape. Upon returning to his underground lab, Dr. Isaacs injects himself several times with the anti-virus, turning him self into a new creature, a self-regenerating mutant with tentacles that can extend out an infinite length, capable of pursuing human flesh.
